A Landscape Moulded by the Sea

Located in the St. Lawrence Estuary, Parc national du Bic proudly showcases its capes, bays, coves, islands, and mountains, emblems of its renown. Think of the sounds and smells of the sea or the caress of a maritime breeze. Imagine a breathtaking sunset, considered to be one of the world’s finest. Seabirds come to nest in the park, and rare plants bloom on its rocky capes. Visitors are delighted by seals basking in the sun near the shore.

Mingle with the sea, the forest and the meadow along the shores of the St. Lawrence Estuary, and surrender to the unique experience of this coastal marine park.

Ferme Rioux - Discovery and Visitors Centre

During your time at the park, don’t miss a visit to the Ferme Rioux - Discovery and Visitors Centre.

When the park’s Discovery and Visitors Centre (DVC) was renovated, it was time to rethink the role of the traditional exhibition in the educational activities. The major finding was that nature is to parks what works of art are to museums.

Having a unique experience, an up-close-and-personal contact with nature, is exactly what you’re hoping for when you enter a national park, more often than not through the door of the DVCs. The parks’ true beating heart, these are great places to meet people, have discussions, and learn. Their space has been reinvented to better guide you on what there is “to do” and “to see” when you go out to explore and discover the national parks.

There’s also a movie room where you can watch audiovisual presentations at your own pace and do a quiz. Both day and evening presentations on a variety of topics are given by park warden-naturalists or researchers associated with the park. The Estuary, the American eel and geomorphology are just a few examples of presentation topics.

You’ll also find reception services here. Discover Boutique Nature, which offers a wide range of clothing, souvenirs and outdoors items. The store staff also takes your activity and accommodations bookings and informs you about the day’s or upcoming discovery activities. You can also renew or purchase your park or network card here.

Discover the Park Through Interpretation

Parc national du Bic has the potential to inspire wonder! And the best way is to participate in our discovery activities (in French only). Through the interpretation of natural and cultural heritage, you’ll learn more about the park and the importance to ensure its protection for present and future generations.

Among the treasures we hope to share are :

• Wildlife observation (seals and eiders) with a park warden-naturalist
• Geomorphology during an evening activity presented at Belvédère du Pic-Champlain
• Discovery of the world of the shoreline during an evening activity
