The Aquarium is next to the bridges at the entrance to Québec City. Only 15 minutes from downtown, it's also 5 minutes from the major shopping centres: Laurier Québec, Place de la Cité, and Place Sainte-Foy.

Operating periods

The Aquarium du Québec is open every day, even on public holidays, except December 25th.

Important! Unless otherwise specified, the last entries are accepted until one hour before the closing of the site for holders of an Aquarium du Québec annual membership or daily ticket.

Regular schedule:

  • October 10, 2023 to May 31, 2024:
    • every day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last entries at 2:30 p.m.)
  • September 3 to October 14, 2024:
    • Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last entries at 2:30 p.m.)
    • Saturday, Sunday and holidays, from 9 a.m, to 5 p.m. (last entries at 3:30 p.m.)
  • October 15, 2024 to May 31, 2025:
    • every day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (last entries at 2:30 p.m.)

Summer period:

  • June 1 to September 2, 2024:
    • every day, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last entries at 4:30 p.m.)

Note

Aquarium du Québec is not a Québec National Park. The Annual Québec National Parks Card is not valid for admission to this establishment.

Please note that it's not possible to use the Aquarium du Québec parking lots for camping and overnight stays. This rule applies to all cars, recreational vehicles, trailers and buses.


Services

Picnic Area 

Trees, flowers, and a view overlooking the river... The Aquarium is ideal for picnicking. Several areas are available in different sectors. The terrace of Alizé restaurant is also open to picnickers. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on site except where they're for sale. Straws and glass containers prohibited.

Boutique 

Open year-round, the boutique is in the reception building. It offers souvenirs with the colours of the Aquarium and the animals it shelters: decorative items, clothing, jewellery, books, postcards, photos, toys, original and exclusive corporate gifts, etc.

Strollers

The use of a baby carrier or umbrella stroller is recommended to facilitate the circulation of visitors in the paths and pavilions of the Aquarium. All sectors are accessible with this equipment, with the exception of the Deep Sea Pavilion during peak visitor periods. Parking for strollers is available outside the pavilion.

Nursing room

The Aquarium provides its customers with a functional and comfortable nursing room for mothers and their babies. The nursing room has rocking chairs with nursing cushions, a changing table with mobile, a drawing table for children, and some essential accessories (like sanitizing product). A unidirectional mirror gives parents a totally private view of the St. Lawrence River and the Québec bridge.

Important

Pets

Domestic animals, including pets, are not permitted at Aquarium du Québec, with the exception of certified guide dogs and service dogs on duty, which are allowed without restriction in all buildings and other areas. They must be kept on a leash at all times.

Anyone wishing to enter the Aquarium with a guide or service dog must be able to provide an identification card or a letter from the organization attesting to the dog's status as a guide or service dog that has completed training and an easily identifiable visual identification element (harness, visible scarf, or any other visual identification element). The dog's up-to-date vaccination record is optional (vaccines: rabies, kennel cough (Bordetella), distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus, leptospirosis).

Aquarium du Québec reserves the right to ask the visitor and his or her pet to leave the site if the safety instructions are not respected and if the dog exhibits behaviour that could disturb the peace and quiet of the premises and the other animals.

Please note that guide dogs in training are not permitted. An emotional support animal is considered a pet. Emotional support animals are not permitted on the Aquarium du Québec site.

Companion Leisure Card

Companion Leisure Card (CAL) and Access 2 Card holders may be accompanied free of charge by one person during a visit at Aquarium du Québec.
