Grand-Lac Touladi Visitors Centre |
12 km (loop) |
Intermediate | From the sandy shore of Grand Lac Touladi, you can paddle all around this former logging lake. You’ll pass through the Terre à Fer aquatic-grass bed, navigate beneath Montagne du Serpent as it looms above you, and have the pleasure of seeing a Bald Eagle fly overhead. |
These completely protected lakes are part of a vast network of lakes and rivers that wind through Témiscouata. They provide access to a very well-preserved natural environment where you might have the chance to see beavers, moose, muskrats, all kinds of ducks and, of course, the Bald Eagle, the park’s animal emblem.
This venerable logging lake not only boasts a rich natural environment, but also represents an important cultural heritage. Logging remnants can be found nearby, along with numerous archaeological sites.
As you continue your journey, you’ll come to the Garden of Memories, where you’ll discover the rich history of this area. People have been coming here for thousands of years. On this trip through the Touladi lakes, keep in mind the privilege of visiting a place where generations of humans have gone before.
This circuit is a history book, some pages of which are still sleeping in the shade beneath the earth along the Touladi lakes.
