From Montréal:

Please note that exit 1 toward Île Charron/Îles de Boucherville is not accessible to vehicles at the exit of the tunnel, due to the reorganization of the lanes (in French only).

  • Take Autoroute 25 South/Autoroute 20 South/Tunnel Louis-H-Lafontaine to get to Autoroute 25 South. Take Autoroute 25 South/20 East and then take exit 92 to Boulevard de Mortagne. Cross the Boulevard de Mortagne overpass and turn right onto Rue Ampère. Turn right to get to the ramp for Autoroute 20 West/ Autoroute 25 North. Take exit 1 to Île Charron/Îles de Boucherville (last exit before the tunnel). At the stop sign, turn left to enter Parc national des Îles-de-Boucherville.

From Québec City:

  • Take Autoroute 20 west toward Montréal. Continue on Autoroute 25 north. Take exit 1 toward Île Charron/Îles de Boucherville. At the stop sign, turn left to enter Parc national des Îles-de-Boucherville.

From Gatineau/Ottawa:

  • Take and keep going down Ontario Highway 417 east until Autoroute 40 east. Take exit 80 south for Autoroute 25 south/Trans-Canada Highway/Route Transcanadienne toward Autoroute 20/Tunnel L.-H.- Lafontaine. Follow the Trans-Canada Highway/Autoroute 25 south. Take exit 1 toward Île Charron/Îles de Boucherville. At the stop sign, turn left to enter Parc national des Îles-de-Boucherville.

Access to the park by bike: please note that it's not possible to access the park's main entrance by bike. Cyclists must use the river shuttles operated by our partner Navark.

Public charging stations for electric vehicles

Four level 2 charging station (FLO) are available at the P1 parking lot, near the Grande-Rivière washroom facility. Details

By public transit (available in summer season only)

Bus: Consult the RTL and STM websites for routes and schedules. Some routes intersect the river shuttle boarding platforms.

River shuttles operated by our partner Navark, the transportation services are almost as entertaining as an actual visit to the park! Three water taxis allow you to access the park from Montréal and Longueuil (Vieux-Longueuil and Boucherville boroughs). Each water taxi offers you a route with unique views of the islands. Boarding on foot or by bicycle only:

  • Traverse Montréal Mercier (Promenade Bellerive) - Longueuil île Charron
    • Distance from Île Charron landing and the Discovery and Visitors Centre: 3 km; about 1 hour on foot or 15 minutes by bike.
    • Distance from Île Charron landing and Camping Grosbois: 6 km; about 1 hour 45 minutes by foot or 30 minutes by bicycle.
  • Traverse Boucherville - Île Grosbois
    • Distance between Île Grosbois landing and the Discovery and Visitors Centre: 3.5 km; about 1 hour and 15 minutes on foot or 20 minutes by bicycle.
    • Distance between Île Grosbois landing stage and Camping Grosbois: 0 km, direct access.

Île Sainte-Marguerite Discovery and Visitors Centre

Services: reception and information, campers registration, first aid, Boutique Nature, washrooms, discovery area, ready-to-eat (summer weekends, from Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day to Labour Day) and frozen treats.

  • September 3, 2024 to May 16, 2025
    • every day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Le Grand-Duc Pavilion

Services: equipment rental (during winter only), washrooms, registration centre for school, family and corporate groups, discovery activities.

Period (group registration): year-round

Reservation by phone (1-800-665-6527) is mandatory at least 24 hours in advance.

  • December to March (depending on snow conditions)
    • every day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Grosbois Visitors Centre

Services: reception and information, campers registration, equipment rental (bicyles, child trailers for bicycle, solo and tandem kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddles and pedal boats), conveniance store, washrooms, discovery activities and first aid.

  • May 17 to July 14, 2024
    • Monday to Thursday: closed
    • Friday, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Equipment Rental

You can rent equipment from the park's rental centre on Île Sainte-Marguerite and at Grosbois campground (except in the winter when the equipment is only available at the Grand-Duc Pavilion).

* Subject to availability, equipment for children may be borrowed free of charge (one day rental maximum).

Children may be denied access to watercraft if they are not big enough to don a flotation jacket. These jackets are normally suitable for children aged five years and older.

Children under five years of age are not allowed in rental watercrafts. The minimum age to be alone in a watercraft is 16 years old. 

Last rental 1 hour before the building closes. All equipment must be returned before closing. A delay in the return of the equipment will result in additional charges.

Equipment rental is offered on site (subject to availability) or by phone at  450-928-5088, option 1.

Note that equipment rental may be suspended at any time and without notice due to weather conditions. Please note that dogs are not allowed on rental and personal boats, except for guide dogs.

Food services

On weekends and holidays, the Île Sainte-Marguerite Discovery and Visitors Centre offers cakepops (vanilla and chocolate), muffins, sandwich cookies, soft coconut ice cream, chocolate cookies and coconut caramel chocolate ice cream.

public golf course located in the park (Île à Pinard) gives enthusiasts a chance to enjoy a round of golf on the 18-hole par 70 course (6,100 yards).

Pets

Since May 17, 2019, dogs are allowed. However, they are only allowed in certain areas. Check out the applicable rules and authorized sites.

Guide dogs and service dogs are allowed everywhere. Other pets are still prohibited in national parks.
