An outing with Fido at Sépaq destinations

You no longer need to have your dog looked after at all costs during your Sépaq stay! Depending on your favourite destination, you could go on an adventure with your family in the company of your four-legged friend. Here are some tips to help you enjoy a perfect experience in Quebec's most beautiful world of nature.

National Parks

Dogs are now allowed in all Québec national parks, except in the Anticosti and Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé national parks. However, dogs will only be authorized in certain places.

For hikers

There is nothing better than a walk in the forest to fill up on fresh air. An outdoor outing also brings its share of benefits to your pet. Your dog can now accompany you on certain identified trails in Quebec's national parks. The availability of trails accessible to four-legged canine friends varies according to each establishment. Before you go on a hike, don't hesitate to consult the list of places where your dog is accepted so that you can plan your outing in the wild accordingly. Little reminder: your dog must be kept on a leash at all times.

For campers

Don't miss the opportunity to spend a night under the stars with your pet! Several well-identified camping loops in some national parks can accommodate you and your pet. Before booking your overnight campsite in Quebec's most beautiful world of nature, take a look at the areas where your dog is accepted. Also, remember that your dog must spend the night in your camping vehicle or installation (tent, trailer, RV, van , cooking shelter, etc.) with the person in charge, as the dog must be under constant supervision.

Taking a nature break

Whether it's for a simple contact with nature, a picnic, or a stop by a lake, the national parks offer you a few targeted places where your dog will also be welcome. Several picnic areas and some watercraft launching sectors are accessible for you and your dog. Again, to avoid any surprises when you arrive in a national park, check out the list of places where dogs are allowed.

Wildlife reserves

Wildlife reserves are great places to go on an outing with your dog. Your pet is welcome at all our reserves. You and your animal can even camp together at several of these establishments. It's also a great opportunity to catch some fish on a fishing-camping trip while your dog can follow you in the boat.

However, dogs are allowed only in designated spaces and under certain conditions. Consult the list of authorized places for each wildlife reserve.

Tourist establishments

Camping des Voltigeurs and Centre touristique du Lac-Kénogami

At Camping des Voltigeurs and Centre touristique du Lac-Kénogami, you can stay at a campground with your dog. Indeed, canines are allowed at all campgrounds, except on ready-to-camp sites. You and your pet also have access to the picnic area as well as to all trails and maintained areas that aren’t close to a waterway.

Centre touristique du Lac-Simon

At Centre touristique du Lac-Simon, your dog can come camping with you as there are a number of campsites where dogs are allowed. Furthermore, your pet can frisk about under your watchful eye in unmaintained areas close to a waterway and on all trails, with the exception of cross-country ski trails during the winter season. Lac de la Ferme is also canine accessible, as is one side of the picnic area by the stream.

Duchesnay

Duchesnay cuts dogs and their owners a whole lot of slack! Indeed, the whole outdoor site is canine accessible except nautical accesses points, designated areas close to a waterway, and cross-country ski trails.

Parc de la Chute-Montmorency

You dream of sharing the stunning view of Montmorency Falls with your dog? It's possible! As well as having access to the cable car, your animal can stretch its legs on the outdoor site and at the station.
